This is on public display at Alma Bay and hope to tie in the history of this paradise with the risks of it's future from peoples' waste. Let's consider the environment together.
This triptych on Past; Present and Future of Alma Bay, Magnetic Island, pays tribute to some of the history of Alma Bay. It is about the old swimming enclosure which now sits in ruin on the sea bed. It has been a place for sea grass growth which is wonderful, but on the flip side, it also collects rubbish.
I welcome the children coming to our bay to take the message I carry about how neglectful we have been as a race and invite them to take control.
Please also SPOT THE FISH. I have put up tags for children to actively identify the fish in the picture. These are but a few samples of the beautiful sea-life that make their home in Alma Bay.
Love to hear your thoughts on the piece.
Snappy Happy daks and Jules exclusive range will be for sale at the Bayz Festival at Alma Bay, Arcadia, Magnetic Island.
Jules looks forward to showing her new designs to the community and see what they think. She's had a ball making them and as a veteran tomboy, she wants to test the waters to see how snappy happy ready others can be.
More postings will follow on her blog
Have your say. What's your view on the condition of the Great Barrier Reef. I'm personally petrified, for me and for those who follow. We simply have to take some action by talking back and giving our view.
Christmas gifts made with love at reasonable prices but all profits will go to the Medecins sans Frontiers to support them in their work in fighting to control of the Ebola virus.
“The exercise in remaking something from its original function into something new is a wonderful thing. It has made me aware of the hard work & waste we have in a hugely consuming world but with this consciousness, every little bead, piece of paper or natural fiber prompts a memory. As the hours passed, the creations have brought about a new appreciation for the joy of creating, healing and nostalgia. I hope you agree!” Jules
Merry Christmas to you all
